Newsletter April 2014

Spring is here at last!!

After an appalling winter we are now seeing the fields filled with lambs and some sunshine between the April showers. The first two big annual events of the year,
Valentines Day and Mothers Day have brought brisk business to the pub and the
departure of the chef has seen Kimberley don her apron with some excellent culinary
results.

The pub continues to serve the community perfectly well, as we envisaged and is in
good health.

From a building landlords perspective the year has so far been relatively uneventful.
We have, however, commissioned one piece of building work, the building of a
sloping pavement area in front of the toilets, which is now complete. The addition of
this paving is a really important facility as it enables easy wheelchair access at the
toilet entrance. We hope you will agree we now have a very aesthetic and practical
addition to the outside area.

The business of the committee has now turned to the Annual General Meeting which
this year will be held on: Tuesday 22 July, 2014

We know that people may be taken up with the excitement of ‘Le Grande Depart’
visiting our region not long before the date of our AGM. Although our AGM might not
get as much coverage as ‘Le Tour’ it is important that we are able to report the
ongoing business of the CCP to you and hear your views and therefore this is an
important date in our calendar and we look forward to seeing you there.

The AGM will be held in the Coverdale Memorial Hall, Carlton and will start at
7.30 p.m.

This year, for the first time, we will be returning a dividend to our shareholders. Our
rules of association say that we are able to give dividends in the region of 1%-3%.
We will be able to confirm the actual amount shortly once our accounts have been
finalised by the accountant, however, we are expecting a mid-range yield. Therefore,
you can expect to see a cheque dropping onto your doormat shortly. This is good
news as it reflects the positive financial position of the CCP.

We would like to thank all members of the CCP for their ongoing support and we look
forward to seeing you again at the AGM on Tuesday 22nd July.
