Six Weeks in.....

We thought it helpful to give you an early update as to how things were going at the Foresters Arms with our new tenants and asked Keith and Lesley to write a few words. Here they are:

We took over the running of The Foresters on July 27th. We have now got six weeks under our belts and what a six weeks they have been. We have been fortunate to have inherited a great team, who have been very patient in letting us get to know the systems in place, especially in the dining room. Thanks guys. Little things have surprised us. We knew you liked cask ales but wow, the good folk of Coverdale sure love their wine. We have changed the wine supplier and you seem to like the results. We have continued the policy of using local breweries for their excellent beers but, we will introduce some well-known national brews into the mix.

We took delivery of an all singing coffee machine this week. So we will be open from 10am for really good coffee. If any ladies would like to take advantage of this facility after the school run, we would love to see you. Talking of early morning opening, it has been our pleasure to host a number of shooting breakfasts. This makes our days very long but very rewarding.

You may have seen my debut as a page three model. The Darlington and Stockton Times featured our planted drum kit, which stands on the front patio of the pub. This has attracted many positive comments and, lots of pictures taken.

Future plans include music nights and, we hope to have a band booked for next weekend to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary. The web site will be updated very soon as will our Facebook page. As time progresses we will hopefully have more time to concentrate on implementing some of the ideas we have. So thank you for your warm welcome and kind comments and, if you have any suggestions that you think may be of interest, our new email address is: This email address is being protected from spambots.
