Merry Christmas!
On Christmas Eve it will be exactly ten years since the Foresters Arms reopened after being rescued for the community, thanks to the generous support given by you, our members.
To mark this momentous achievement, we are planning to hold celebratory events at the Foresters Arms next year, when hopefully we will have glorious sunshine and there will be less uncertainty that Coronavirus will affect our plans. Looking back, what was achieved in the early part of 2011 can only be described as truly remarkable.
ln less than a year, funds were raised to buy and refurbish what had become an asset-stripped building site and the Foresters Arms was once again open for business. The dedication and determination of the management committee formed in March that year inspired local people, as well as those not living in the area, to pledge to buy shares. By April over £157,000 had been pledged and by June it was possible to make an offer of £225,000 to purchase what was left of the Foresters Arms.
The offer was accepted and the CCP Ltd became the owners of the Foresters Arms in July 2011.
